Job Description

Full Time, Day shift , 12 hour shifts

Shifts are scheduled for 12 hours and additional hours and shifts are possible per the needs of the department.

The Paramedic in the Emergency Department at Northwest Medical Center Provides advanced life support care to patients who are ill and/or injured.

Transports and transfers patients and assesses the extent of an illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures to follow.Applies artificial respiration or administers oxygen in cases of suffocation and asphyxiation, dispenses antiseptic solution to prevent infection, starts and administers intravenous fluids, and performs other emergency medical procedures during the ambulance ride.

Carries out therapeutic measures for patients in the Emergency Department while working with the emergency team as directed by the Administrative Medical Director or online qualified physician (per R9-25-204, 205), and ED Nursing Leadership.                                                                

 Qualifications:

 Education:                

High School diploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience required. 

Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training.                                                

Experience:                

One year experience in a pre-hospital setting, 2-4 years of related experience preferred                                

 

Required Licenses/Certifications:        

AZ state CEP certification

BLS, PALS and ACLS certification         - Must be American Heart Association
