Position is Full Time , Night shift 1830 - 0700   Days shift 630-1900


Position Purpose

The Nurse Tech in the MSICU Department provides basic care to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.        


Looking for a positive team player to join fast paced, team oriented Medsurg Intensive Care Step Down unit. The Nurse Tech in the MSICU Department provides basic care to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.


The Nurse Tech assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Assists with personal hygiene, takes vital signs and changes bed linens. May serve and collect food trays, provide for between-meal nourishment. Cleans, sterilizes, stores and prepares other supplies.


Maintains adequate floor stock as needed for unit/departmental operations. Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with hospital standards. Takes a sense of ownership regarding other related duties as assigned. Works under immediate supervision.


Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements        


High School diploma or equivalent required. 

Post High School vocational / specialized training preferred.                                               



One (1) year experience in hospital or nursing home preferred.             

Preferred candidate will have prior experience working in a hospital setting.


Licenses/Certifications Required:

BLS card certification - American Heart Association
