Northwest Medical Center is a 300-bed hospital offering a full range of healthcare services including emergency services, accredited chest pain and heart failure programs, neurology and neurosurgery, outpatient imaging, a nationally accredited surgical weight loss program, total joint program, spine program and stroke center (recognized with Gold Seal designations by The Joint Commission), robotic surgery, GI lab, a free-standing women’s center, inpatient rehabilitation facility, wound care center, five urgent care facilities, and three ambulatory surgery centers. This is a Per Diem (as needed) positions working the afternoon shift with rotation as needed.
Performs a varietyof duties related to the preparation and serving of food: Sanitation ofkitchen, cleaning of cooking utensils and dishes.  Disposes of trash,stocks floors, assists with patient tray line and delivery of trays topatients.

This position alsoserves meals on the tray line, the Food Service worker will have to learnmenu/diets and be able to communicate well with Catering Associates. Previous diet knowledge helpful but not necessary.

*Afternoonshift is 12:00PM - 8:30 PM OR 2:30PM - 8:30PM

 Maintains Clean andSanitary conditions in all food service areas, to include dishwashing, potwashing, general sanitation, cleaning kitchen equipment, and surface areas suchas counters and floors.

Transports foodcarts and other equipment as appropriate to designated areas.  TransportsGarbage and recyclable materials to assignedareas.        

Operates and cleansdish machine and assigned equipment per department procedures, includingroutine sanitizer solution and temperature checks.

Serves meals asassigned using proper diet adherence, portion sizes and sanitationpractice.  Assist with Food preparation and storage of food.        

Maintains allequipment and temperature logs as required. Reports when equipment is notworking properly using departmentprocedures.        

Promptlycommunicates customer concerns or process concerns. Is knowledgeable ofthe service recovery plan.  Uses service recovery if needed.

 Adheres toDepartment standards, Pima County Health department regulations, JACHOstandards.  Maintain a clean and sanitary workenvironment.                

Follows facility anddepartment protocols for Hazardous Material and waste program. Participatesin department meetings and staff development programs.

Demonstratesefficiency in computer software, electronic department communication.



Education: High School or GEDpreferred.                                

Skills: Ability to follow written and oralinstructions plus follow establishedprocedures.                                                

Experience: None required.
