Surgical Tech - Northwest Tucson Surgery Center - FT - Days
This Surgical Tech position is full-time days - No Nights, No Weekends, No Holidays! Great opportunity for an experienced surgical technician in a busy multi-specialty outpatient surgery center.
Assists the physician in the surgical OR suite using sterile technique for gowning and gloving; patient positioning; handing appropriate instruments to the surgeon during the surgical process, while anticipating their needs. Assists with opening of sterile supplies, sets up for procedures and maintains an orderly surgical field. Adequately prepares for procedures/surgeries and anticipates physician's needs during procedures/surgeries. Accepts and properly identifies any medication or solution on sterile field. Performs sponge, instrument and sharps counts according to policy. Handles specimens/cultures according to policy.
Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements
Successful completion of an accredited (CAAHEP, ABHES, etc.) Surgical Technologist program
Education required to obtain certification as a Surgical Tech as defined by NBSTSA or NCCT (i.e., two years of on-the-job training or seven years of experience working in the field)
Military OR training program with two (2) years surgical tech experience required.
Required: American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required.
Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C)
