Surgical Tech - Labor & Delivery
Full Time, Day shift , 12 hour shifts
The Surgical Technician in the Northwest Medical Center's Women's Center, prepares operating rooms for surgery, using appropriate techniques.
Assists in provision of intraoperative care by performing scrub duties. Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures. Follows hospital regulations and industry procedures to tend to patients during pre-operation procedures. Performs pre-operation preparations to the patient's skin, body and medical equipment. May be required to transport patient to and from the operating room.
Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements
Successful completion of an accredited (CAAHEP, ABHES, etc.) Surgical Technologist program
Education required to obtain certification as a Surgical Tech as defined by NBSTSA or NCCT (i.e., two years of on-the-job training or seven years of experience working in the field)
Military OR training program with two (2) years surgical tech experience required.
Preferred for Surgical Tech:
Previous experience as a Surgical Technician
Two (2) years experience in a OB setting highly preferred.
Required: American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required.
Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C)
