Job Description

Full Time, Days shift 

Day shift position with the need for flexibility. Schedules patients for surgery and appointments for Pre-procedural Screening/Preadmission Testing. 

Coordinates operating rooms, schedules of surgeons, and assistants needed for the procedure. Gathers and records financial and insurance information.

Distributes pre- and post-operative information to patients.

Preferred candidate will have knowledge of Medical Terminology and Anatomy.        

Prior experience with scheduling , medical office highly preferred.

 

Education:                

High School diploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience required.                                                

Experience:                

Two (2) years medical office or department experience, one (1) year surgery office or OR scheduling experience preferred.  

Two (2) years in scheduling role in physician office or one (1) year OR experience preferred.                                                

 

Skills:                

Answer telephones, establish filing systems, input data into computer programs maintain filing systems, research information, schedule appointments, telephone courtesy, calculator, fax, personal computer, photocopier, type 45 WPM, generate correspondence and place outbound calls.   Medical Terminology and Anatomy preferred.
