RN - Neurology - Full Time - Days

This is a full time position working a day shift.
The Neurology Department at Northwest is a Neuro/Telemetry/Med-Surg unit. This 23 private room unit cares for patients with Neurological diagnosis such as; Strokes, Seizures, Traumatic Brain Injury, Myasthenia Gravis. The department also cares for post op patients for Neurological surgeries such as Spine or Craniotomy. Northwest Medical Center is Certified as a Primary Stroke Center and is also Certified in Spine Surgery. The Neuro unit provides assistance hospital wide to assess and treat acute stroke patients.
Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
