Job Description

This position is Part Time, rotating schedule (24 hours weekly*)

*Combination of 3/8's and 2/9's with support of  Wednesday Support Group (3 hours- 12:30p - 3:30p) , and Breastfeeding class 2 Saturday's monthly  (3 hours-  2:30p - 5:30p)

 

This RN position will be based in the NICU and L&D unit for attending both normal and high risk deliveries, newborn transition, initiating skin to skin, and early breastfeeding support.

Skills needed for this position include newborn stabilization and admission skills for both well and sick newborns.

The RN should be able to identify newborn disposition and report problems to physicians and practitioners as needed along with identifying and correcting lactation problems.

The RN should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the OB, NICU, and lactation field.

This position requires lactation certification within 90 days of hire

 

Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements        

Education:               

ADN or Diploma in Nursing Program,  BSN preferred

 

Experience:               

Clinical experience in area of expertise preferred.

The RN should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the OB, newborn, and lactation field.

 

Licenses/Certifications:       

Required:

Current Arizona RN license or compact state license

Lactation certification (within 90 days of hire) IBLCE board certification preferred

BLS certification card (CPR)- American Heart Association

NRP for Women's Center

(All new graduate nurses or nurses new to specialty area have 180 days in which to obtain ACLS, PALS or NRP, as required by unit).
