Pharmacy Tech Specialist
Full Time Position
Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, compounds and dispenses medical prescriptions. May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Receives and stores incoming supplies. Verifies stock and enters data in computer to maintain inventory records.
Assists with completion of home medication lists for hospital patients and enters the information into the electronic health record.
Assists with other medication reconciliation activities such as training of staff, compiling data for quality and/or safety purposes.
Performs other hospital pharmacy technician duties under the direction of a pharmacist.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead the work of others. Typically reports to a manager or supervisor. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
