The Paramedic in theEmergency Department at Northwest Medical Center Provides advanced life supportcare to patients who are ill and/or injured. Transports and transfers patientsand assesses the extent of an illness or injury to establish and prioritizemedical procedures to follow. Applies artificial respiration or administersoxygen in cases of suffocation and asphyxiation, dispenses antiseptic solutionto prevent infection, starts and administers intravenous fluids, and performsother emergency medical procedures during the ambulance ride.

Carries outtherapeutic measures for patients in the Emergency Department while workingwith the emergency team as directed by the Administrative Medical Director oronline qualified physician (per R9-25-204, 205), and ED NursingLeadership.                                                                


Shifts are scheduledfor 12 hours and additional hours and shifts are possible per the needs of thedepartment.



Qualifications

Education:                

High Schooldiploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience required. 

Post High SchoolVocational/SpecializedTraining.                                                

Experience:                

One year experiencein a pre-hospital setting, 2-4 years of related experiencepreferred                                

Skills:                

Perform Medicaltreatments, procedures, Familiar with standard concepts, practices, andprocedures within a particularfield.                                                

Licenses/Certifications:        

AZ state CEPcertification

BLS, PALS and ACLScertification         - Must beAmerican Heart Association
