Northwest Medical Center is pleased to announce openings for our graduate Nurse Residency Program. This formal, structured new graduate program will prepare new graduates in the successful transition from student to confident professional in their chosen career path of nursing.
In addition to a one-on-one clinical preceptorship with an experienced registered nurse, our nurse residents participate in classes on critical thinking, effective communication, and time management. Nurse residents will be given the opportunity to shadow other departments during their residencies. The departments chosen for shadowing depend on the area where the resident will be working and what interests the resident. Upon completion of shadowing you will be chosen to work in a department you have indicated as an area of interest.
After your initial two years, you will be given an opportunity to move to another area of interest and challenge if you so desire, while maintaining seniority.
- Must be a graduate of a U.S. stateapproved and accredited nursing program
- Must have a current unencumbered Arizona or Compact registered nurse (RN) license by program start date
- BSN preferred; ADN required
- Must have a current CPR certification appropriate for a health care provider
Through collaboration we will be the leader in Southern Arizona for professional nurses, by building an environment that embraces support, respect, innovation and trust.
