Job Description

Full Time position,  8 hour shifts

This position will cover shifts Mon-Fri as well as weekend day shifts as needed.

 

The Nurse Tech in the PACU department (Recovery Room) assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients post surgical procedures  under direct supervision of a licensed nurse.

 

Assists with personal hygiene, takes vital signs and changes bed linens.

Assists with clerical duties (e.g. admissions, transfers, filing, copying, logs) , transcription of orders, utilizing the 2 patient ID verification process, ordering and stocking of forms and supplies, maintain department supplies and equipment, to include maintenance and repair services. Cleans, sterilizes, stores and prepares other supplies.

 

Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements

 

Education:        

High School Diploma or equivalent required. 

Post High School vocational / specialized training preferred.                                                

 

Experience:                

One (1) year experience in hospital or nursing home preferred.                        

Preferred candidate will have prior experience working in a hospital setting.

                        

Licenses/Certifications:        

Required: "BLS certification"  American Heart Association
