Nurse Tech - Ortho - FT - Days
Position is Full Time, Day Shift 630a - 700p
Looking for a caring and compassionate individual to help patients with activities of daily living, vital signs, and specialty skills on a surgical department. The department is certified in both Joint Replacements and Bariatric service lines.
Able to work in a fast pace environment that involves orthopedic, bariatric, urologic and general surgical patients. Job duties include checking vital signs, finger sticks, ambulating with patients, assist with baths/patient care, answering call lights and documentation. Good, kind and caring attitude is appreciated! Opportunities to work closely with RN's , physical therapist, occupational therapist and dietary staff.
The Nurse Tech in the MedSurgOrtho department assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients.
Provides basic nursing care to patients under direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
Assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients.
Assists with personal hygiene, takes vital signs and changes bed linens.
May serve and collect food trays, provide for between-meal nourishment.
Cleans, sterilizes, stores and prepares other supplies.
Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Post High School vocational / specialized training preferred.
One (1) year experience in hospital or nursing home preferred.
Preferred candidate will have prior experience working in a hospital setting.
Required: "BLS certification" American Heart Association
