Job Description

Position is PRN , Days Shift-  Shifts are 12 hours , 630am-700pm

Looking for a positive team player to join fast paced, team oriented cardiac unit. Great unit to master overall nursing skills. The Nurse Tech in the Acute Care Telemetry (step down) department provides basic nursing care to  patients under direct supervision of a licensed nurse.


The Nurse Tech provides personal care assistance to patients including bathing, dressing, eating and transportation,  procedures including sterile dressings, blood glucose testing, collection of specimens and enemas.  Prepares patients for scheduled procedures to assist in patient assessment. Monitors clinical condition of patients and reports changes to appropriate personnel. Charts and documents observations according to hospital policy and procedure. Handles and transports patients, specimens, blood products, and medications in a safe and efficient manner. Maintains adequate floor stock as needed for unit/departmental operations. Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with hospital standards. Takes a sense of ownership regarding other related duties as assigned. Performs other job duties relevant to the position as assigned.  


Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements        


High School Diploma or equivalent required. 

Post High School vocational / specialized training preferred.                                                


One (1) year experience in hospital or nursing home preferred.




BLS certification (American Heart Association)
