This position is per-diem (as-needed basis), with rotating day and night shifts.
The kitchen staff atNorthwest Medical Center is a diverse culinary team that works together to provide exceptional food and care for our patients,visitors and staff. Our culinary team works with the Chefs to create dishes for our retailspace, The Saguaro Café. The dish-washing team also works with the Chefs toprovide assistance in the kitchen on a daily basis. We cater many events at the hospital throughout the year, making for a fun, fast-paced environment. We take pride in our teamwork, and look forward to meeting new candidates that wish to work in theNutritional Services Department at Northwest Medical Center.
Prepares and serveshigh quality nutritious meals to Patients, Staff, Physicians and Visitorsin a safe and sanitary manner. Cooks' duties includes all hot prep andcooking for department. Communicates with service staff in retail and patientareas to ensure all staff have daily menu information - to includeidentification of allergens and special serving instruction. Adheres toDepartment standards, Pima County Health department regulations, JACHOstandards. Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment. Demonstratesefficiency in computer software, electronic department communication.
Education:High School / GED orequivalent previous experience in large scale food preparation.
One (1) yearexperience in institutional food preparation.Knowledge of cookingmethods/procedures, including types of preparation and related routines.
Current Health Department SanitationCertificate or Serve Safe Certificate from a county within the state of Arizonaor Food Handler Certificate .
