Full Time position working in the Main OR at Northwest Medical Center supporting the Cardiac ( Heart Team )
40 hours weekly call working 10 hour day shifts

Job Duties:
- The Cardiovascular Surgical Tech in the Operating Room at Northwest Medical Center, assists surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up for operations and passing items to doctors and nurses as needed and assists in preparing and moving patients and in cleaning the operating theater.
- Assists in preparing rooms with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment.
- Assists with opening of sterile supplies, sets up for procedures and maintains an orderly surgical field.
- Adequately prepares for procedures/surgeries and anticipates physician's needs during procedures/surgeries.
- Accepts and properly identifies any medication or solution onto sterile field.
- Handles specimens/cultures according to policy and performs sponge, instrument and sharps counts according to policy.
- Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment, instruments and supplies and returns all to proper locations.
Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements
Required Education:
Education: "Required:
Completion of accredited Surgical Technician program
-OR- 2 years of on-the-job training
-OR- 7 years of experience working in the field
-OR- Military training program with 2 years surgical tech experience"
Experience:
"Required for Cardiovascular Surgical Tech: Two (2) years previous experience in vascular, cardiac and thoracic cases.
Preferred for Surgical Tech: Previous experience as a Surgical Technician."
Licenses/Certifications:
Licenses/Certifications: "Required: BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) "
