Job Description

Northwest Medical Center is a 300-bed hospital offering a full range of healthcare services including emergency services, accredited chest pain and heart failure programs, neurology and neurosurgery, outpatient imaging, a nationally accredited surgical weight loss program, total joint program, spine program and stroke center (recognized with Gold Seal designations by The Joint Commission), robotic surgery, GI lab, a free-standing women’s center, inpatient rehabilitation facility, wound care center, five urgent care facilities, and three ambulatory surgery centers. Plans and implements the overall nursing policies, procedures, and services for a unit. Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training clinical staff. Ensures that nurses are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. May provide direct patient care and is responsible for assessing, planning, and evaluating patients.

Qualifications

Education:Associate's Degree minimum, Bachelor's Degree preferred. Master's Degreepreferred.

Experience: Five (5)years experience in the area of specialty, and two (2) years ofsupervisory/management experience.                                

Skills: Acting withintegrity, analyzing and interpreting financial data, computer literacy,gathering needed information, delegating and supporting teams, evaluatingdecisions/solutions, improving work process, making effective decisions.  Excellent human relations and oral/writtencommunications skills.  Measuringcustomer service and meeting customer needs. Partnering with customers/others, promoting NMC mission, vision andvalues.  Utilizing communication channelsand Valuingdiversity.                                

Licenses/Certifications:As required by profession and standards. Desired Certification/licensure: Recognized professional certification.
