Job Description

Northwest Medical Center is a 300-bed hospital offering a full range of healthcare services including emergency services, accredited chest pain and heart failure programs, neurology and neurosurgery, outpatient imaging, a nationally accredited surgical weight loss program, total joint program, spine program and stroke center (recognized with Gold Seal designations by The Joint Commission), robotic surgery, GI lab, a free-standing women’s center, inpatient rehabilitation facility, wound care center, five urgent care facilities, and three ambulatory surgery centers. This position works in our 13-bed inpatient rehab facility. 

 

Plans and conducts individualized occupational therapy programs to help patients develop, regain, or maintain their ability to perform daily activities.

Teaches patients skills/techniques and how to use adaptive equipment for participating in activities.

Studies, evaluates, and records patients' activities and progress.

Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Performs a variety of tasks.

A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a manager.

 



Qualifications

Education:  Bachelor's Degree from an accredited program in occupational therapy.    
    
Experience:  One (1) year of acute care experience.    
    
Skills: Computer literacy; written and verbal communication skills
 
Licenses/Certification:  Licensed in Arizona; CPR certification.
