Job Description

Northwest Medical Center is a 300-bed hospital offering a full range of healthcare services including emergency services, accredited chest pain and heart failure programs, neurology and neurosurgery, outpatient imaging, a nationally accredited surgical weight loss program, total joint program, spine program and stroke center (recognized with Gold Seal designations by The Joint Commission), robotic surgery, GI lab, a free-standing women’s center, inpatient rehabilitation facility, wound care center, four urgent care facilities, and three ambulatory surgery centers. TheClinical Nurse Educator at the Women's Center isresponsible for the educational and clinical development of unit staff.  Provides educational needs assessment andlearning activities to improve care.


Assesses unit(s)educational needs, develops learning activities, evaluates and revises to meetthe continuing educational needs ofstaff.        

Evaluates outcomesof patient care, consults with other specialists/standards as needed andprovides education to ensure optimal patientcare.        

Formulates a nursingeducational program consistent with the institutions objectives, currentspecialty and education standards and accreditation requirements.

Plans curriculumcontent and sequence, and prepares schedules for classes and otheractivities.                                                

Fosters a spirit ofinquiry and participates in research endeavors asappropriate.                        

Enhancesprofessional growth and development through participation in educationprograms, current literature, inservice workshops and meeting

Performs other jobduties relevant to the position asassigned.        



Required:  Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) andMaster's Degree in related field within four (4) years of employment in therole.                                                 


Five (5) years ofexperience in area ofexpertise.

Licenses/Certifications:        "Required:Current Arizona RN licensure or compact state license and American HeartAssociation (AHA) ACLS & BLS certifications.

Preferred:Nationally recognized certification in area of expertise."
