Job Description

Northwest Medical Center is a 300-bed hospital offering a full range of healthcare services including emergency services, accredited chest pain and heart failure programs, neurology and neurosurgery, outpatient imaging, a nationally accredited surgical weight loss program, total joint program, spine program and stroke center (recognized with Gold Seal designations by The Joint Commission), robotic surgery, GI lab, a free-standing women’s center, inpatient rehabilitation facility, wound care center, five urgent care facilities, and three ambulatory surgery centers. Qualifications

Education:                
Required: High School diploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience.     
Preferred: Associate or Bachelor's Degree.                                                
Experience:                
1 year current experience in childbirth educational teaching.  Current educational experience in adult and young adult learning environments preferred.                                                
Skills:                
Demonstrated exceptional oral and written communication.   Flexibility in teaching various day/evening and weekend classes.   Teaching from a pre-designed course curriculum, to include active involvement in participation of annual course reviews as determined by the Community Outreach Coordinator and Clinical Director for the Women’s Center.                                                
Licenses/Certifications:        
Required:  Current certification from an acceptable National Childbirth Education Program e.g.  ICEA, Lamaze or a similar approved program.
