Job Description

Summary: Under the guidance of the physician, the Cardiac Technician will perform in office cardiac testing as well as collect necessary data directly into the EMR system.  
1. Under the guidance of the physician, the Cardiac Technician will perform and collect necessary EMR data on the following procedures including but not limited to:  Exercise treadmill tests * Holter / event monitor application and scanning * Pacemaker checks * EECP therapy * Acts as first responder in all emergency situations
2. Prepares and sets up the necessary equipment to perform procedures      
3. Consistently reviews and maintains a balanced workflow in the lab.
4. Works in collaboration with billing department on charge submittal.
5. Requisitions supplies and equipment, maintenance and repair services, and prepares related forms.  Keeps stock and equipment inventories.
6. Supports RN's and Medical Assistants with Drug / Pharmacy refills, EMR chart review, patient education and instruction as needed.
7. Demonstrates schedule and assignment flexibility in accordance to the needs of the clinical department.
8. Works collaboratively with team to achieve team goals and ensure patient satisfaction. Cross trains team members as needed.
9. Demonstrates proficiency at hospital wide and/or department specific computer software and technology.


Education: High School diploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience required. Graduation from a certified Medical Assistant Program preferred

Experience: Two years cardiac experience.

Skills: Advanced EKG interpretation skills or equivalent. Exceptional customer service skills. Ability top work as a team member to support clinical/practice goals. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail. Advanced computer skills with an understanding of EMR systems.

Licenses/Certifications: Completion of MA program through accredited educational institution preferred. Current CMA(Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) Arizona State Certification preferred. BLS or CPR/AED required.
