Biomedical EquipmentTechnician (BMET) 1 performs and documents preventive maintenance and repair ofgeneral medical equipment and systems with minimal supervision from servicemanagement to perform required duties.

The BMET 1 mustdemonstrate a working knowledge and use of required test equipment and theelectronics, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical knowledge and skills,including the ability to interpret and effectively utilize service manuals,schematics, and other applicable service information, required to perform anddocument preventive maintenance and repair of medical equipment and systems, asassigned, in accordance with established procedures. The BMET 1 mustdemonstrate good organizational skills as well as good communications,interpersonal, and customer relations skills as applied to interactions withpersonnel and facility staff.      

   



Qualifications

Education:

Two (2) year degreein Electronics or equivalent training and/or experience.  Plus knowledge of personalcomputers.                                                


Experience:

Knowledge ofpersonalcomputers.                                                


Skills:

Excellentorganizational skills as well as good communications, interpersonal, andcustomer relations skills as applied to interactions with hospital personneland facility staff in accordance with established operational and personnelpolicies and procedures.                                                 


Licenses/Certifications:        

Must maintain anactive driver's license.
