Job Description

Northwest Medical Center is a 300-bed hospital offering a full range of healthcare services including emergency services, accredited chest pain and heart failure programs, neurology and neurosurgery, outpatient imaging, a nationally accredited surgical weight loss program, total joint program, spine program and stroke center (recognized with Gold Seal designations by The Joint Commission), robotic surgery, GI lab, a free-standing women’s center, inpatient rehabilitation facility, wound care center, five urgent care facilities, and three ambulatory surgery centers. Administers the nursing program in a hospital or nursing home in the absence of the Nursing Director. Oversees operations in order to maintain standards of patient care; advises management, patient care staff and administrators in matters related to nursing service. Assists in the establishment and implementation of policies and develops organizational structure and standards of performance. Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups.


Education: Required:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).

Preferred: Master's Degree ( i.e. MSN, MHA or MBA).                                                                  

Experience: Required:Five (5) years of previous management experience at a Manager level or higher.

Preferred: Experience in managing multiple areas andmanagers.                                                                            

Skills: Ethicalbehaviors and decision making abilities, analyzing and interpreting financialdata, computer literacy with Outlook, and Excel, business plan developmentskills, delegating and supporting teams, evaluating decisions/solutions,improving work process, making effective decisions.  Treating others with respect and valuingdiversity.  Excellent human relations andoral/written communications skills. Demonstrating/facilitating/public speaking.Utilizing communication channels up and down the organization.  Measuring customer service and meetingcustomer needs.  Partnering withcustomers/others, promoting NMC mission, vision and core values.  Visionary leadership and strategic planning.                                                                                          

Licenses/Certifications Required: Current AZ RN license orcompact state license.

Preferred: National Certification in area ofpractice.
